Festivals of Chemistry 2023

Our Festivals of Chemistry date from the early 1990s. They have a long history of engaging learners with hands-on practical chemistry delivered at universities across the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.

Festivals 2023

The Salters’ Festivals of Chemistry have introduced a three-stagehybrid approach that includes videos, classroom activities, day trips to universities and a team challenge.

Stage 1 – Discover Chemistry Careers

Videos and careers lesson plans delve into chemistry as a subject, its applications in the real world and the career pathways it offers.

Stage 2 – Discovery Days

Discovery Days take place regionally at universities with an inspiring programme including a hands-on practical chemistry experiment. There will also be CPD provision for teachers attending.

Stage 3 – Chemistry for Good Challenge

A nationwide challenge that uses Chemistry for Good. This year’s challenge focuses on teams creating innovative solutions for sustainable cities and communities, and will launch in late spring. Read more here.
