Festivals of Chemistry 2022

In 2022 Festivals of Chemistry introduced a three-stage, blended approach that included both online elements and the reintroduction of in-person events hosted at universities in the United Kingdom.

Stage 1 – Explore Chemistry Careers

Videos and Careers lesson plans with corresponding resources delving in to chemistry as a subject, its application in the real world and the career pathways it offers.

Stage 2 – Discovery Days

10 Regional Discovery Days took place on-site at universities across the UK. The days consisted of an inspiring speaker, a hands on practical chemistry experiment and a careers panel. On the day there was also CPD provision for teachers attending.

Stage 3 – Chemistry for Good Challenge

A nationwide challenge exploring using Chemistry for Good which launched this summer.

Students aged 14-16 years old work in teams of up to 4 to create innovative solutions to make the world a greener place through improving or reducing waste. Learn more here.
