Technician Awards Open for Applications

The Salters’ Institute is now accepting applications for our Technician Awards, where winners will receive £500 for themselves, and another £500 for their department. We understand the importance of practical science to engage young people in the wonder of chemistry. Practical science is not possible without technicians whose expertise and skills help inspire new generations of chemists and scientists.

This award recognises science technicians in schools and colleges who are working to improve their department for the benefit of their students. We accept self-nominations with a confidential reference that pays special attention to the candidate criteria. The referee should be the Head of Science or a Member of the Senior Leadership Team.

The deadline for applications is Friday 27 October 2023 and shortlisted candidates will be invited for online interviews taking place the week commencing 16 November 2023.

Successful candidates will be recognised at the Institute Awards Ceremony at Salters’ Hall on Friday 1 December 2023.
