Apply for the Chemistry Changemakers Award Competition

The Salters’ Institute is now accepting poster submissions from students aged 16-17 that identify and tackle a societal issue using chemistry.

The Salters’ Institute believes that chemistry can change our world for the better. We are looking to you to come up with innovative solutions using chemistry to create a positive impact within our communities.

Students aged 16-17 are invited to individually create a poster that identifies and tackles a societal issue within your community using chemistry. Three winners will be selected and awarded £300 each. An additional £300 will be presented to the science department at each winner’s school.

Students can choose from one of the following themes:

  • Travel and Transport
  • Homes and Habitats
  • Health and Lifestyle

The deadline for applications is Friday, 5 January 2024. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to Salters’ Hall on Tuesday, 27 February 2024 for an interview and to present their poster to our judging panel. Award winners will be recognised at the Institute’s Annual Awards Ceremony in December 2024.
