For over 100 years the Salters’ Institute, through its unique approach of contextual chemistry, has engaged with and inspired young people to be our future chemists and leaders in industry.

As we continue to change young people’s lives, we want the future of chemistry and its related sciences to reflect the diversity of society and to be inclusive and accessible to all. We work to increase social mobility, to reach out to under-served audiences and increase active engagement and involvement in chemistry. We recognise and celebrate young people’s achievements and support them so they can succeed and reach their potential.

We define a major supporter as someone who pledges or makes a donation of £5,000 or more. When you make a major gift, we would be delighted to work with you and shape a philanthropic journey that is tailored to your interests and guide you to where your support could have the most impact.

A major gift can:
  • inspire a generation of young people to be confident in chemistry and related sciences
  • enable us to reach out to more young people, especially those from low socio-economic backgrounds
  • give young people access to chemistry and be part of the opportunities that the Salters’ Institute can offer.
A major gift to the Salters’ Institute by an individual or a family can transform lives.

Make your gift go further

If you are a higher rate tax UK taxpayer, your donation could be worth more and cost you less. Gift Aid adds 25% to your donation. As a higher-rate taxpayer you can reclaim the difference between the 20% to the 45% tax rate, thus reducing the actual cost to you of your donation.
